ABOUT APBIPA-BALI

APBIPA stands for Asosiasi Pengajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing or Association of Teachers of Indonesian as a Foreign Language. It is a non-profit organisation and is the Bali chapter of  APBIPA Indonesia, he nationally recognized Indonesian language teachers’ association providing language and culture courses to foreign language learners of Indonesian.

Its activities are dedicated to professional development of Indonesian as well as English language teachers in Bali. Established in 1998 under  a Notarised Document issued by Notary Public  in Denpasar and initiated by Balinese prominent scholars. APBIPA Bali was a response to the urge made by teachers attending the first Regional Workshop on BIPA Teaching Methodology in 1997.

The Association has established a strong networking with teachers at primary as well as secondary schools allover Bali through various teacher training workshops and forums. At the moment APBIPA is working very closely with a number of RSBI schools in Bali and beyond.

Fostering international friendship and communication through mutual respect based on the principles of integrity and intercultural understanding. Professionalism and quality performance are the bases for the recognition of one’s achievement.

Mission

Development of BIPA profession in the region through the provision of quality training programs for BIPA teachers and learners of Indonesian language as well as organisation of academic forums to exchange BIPA-related information. Goals APBIPA Bali is committed to share its expertise with teachers, to collaborate with relevant institutions and to develop BIPA programs including:


  • BIPA teacher exchange programs;
  • Establishment of quality BIPA courses;
  • Management of training programs and development of BIPA forums;
  • Publication of Jurnal Pengajaran BIPA.
