CERTTIFL I: CERTIFICATE OF TEACHING INDONESIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE 

CERTTIFL I OBJECTIVES

This course trains participants in order to be able to acquire to:

1. implement current approaches and methods applicable for the teaching of Indonesian as a foreign language.
2. teach BIPA students with different learning as well as cultural background in a safe learning environment.
3. implement teaching strategies to foster effective and efficient learning as well as to assist students in dealing with their learning situation.
4. adapt and adjust teaching styles to suit different learning experiences of individual BIPA student.

CERTTIFL I COURSE CONTENTS

Throughout the course participants will learn various approaches, methods and techniques of foreign language teaching, particularly the ones relevant to the teaching of BIPA. The training material can be classified into the following categories of the teaching of:

1. Four macro language skills
2. Teaching grammar and vocabulary
3. Integrated teaching strategies
4. Selection and development teaching materials
5. Lesson planning
6. BIPA cross-cultural awareness
7. Micro-and peer teaching

CERTTIFL I PARTICIPANTS

This course is recommended for those wishing to enter BIPA teaching profession or wishing to develop BIPA teaching skills. The course is also useful for current BIPA teachers of those who have been teaching BIPA and need to refresh their teaching skills.

This course is also suitable for those wishing to live overseas for a longer period of time for any specific reasons. The overseas need for qualified BIPA teachers is so high, and this course will give you tools to represent Indonesia and the Indonesian people in a ‘better shape’.

CERTTIFL I RESOURCE PERSONS

The training program is the product of APBIPA Bali is delivered by two core instructor who have been heavily involved in the development of BIPA program at the national level.

Nyoman Riasa is a BIPA instructor and course designer who has been involved in the teaching and management of BIPA program for about fifteen years. Nyoman Riasa is a BIPA consultant with the National Language Centre (Pusat Bahasa, Departemen Nasional Pendidikan), Jakarta and is Program Coordinator of APBIPA Bali.

Widodo HS, is a senior lecturer of Universitas Negeri Malang (UNM) who has been teaching and managing various BIPA programs for over 20 years. Widodo is currently the Manager of MICE, Malang and a BIPA consultant with the National Language Centre (Pusat Bahasa, Departemen Nasional Pendidikan), Jakarta.

CERTTIFL I FEE

The fee for the full package for the training program is Rp. 3,500,000 to cover the following components:
• Tuition
• Lunches and coffee breaks
• Hotel/homestay accommodation
• Airport transfers
• Local transportation from and to the course venue

The partial fee is to cover the following:

• Tuition
• Meals and coffee breaks
